Breno Bidon hails Dorival Júnior, reveals new role at Corinthians

Midfielder Breno Bidon is one of the main gems revealed by Corinthians’ youth academy in recent years. In 2025, the youngster has stood out more and more and has become a key piece of the Alvinegro squad, especially under Dorival Júnior. In an interview with ge.globo, the number 27 praised his good relationship with the coach.

“Last year, I had good moments in my first year as a professional, but I believe I’m living a great moment now. Dorival has been helping me a lot to evolve in the last games. That helped me a lot, in another position, for my future, my career,” said Bidon.

Previously used more as a defensive midfielder, the midfielder began to play a more advanced role after Dorival Júnior’s arrival, especially in the absence of Argentine Rodrigo Garro. Breno Bidon detailed how the conversation with the coaching staff about his role on the field went.

“When they arrived, they talked to me and asked where I preferred to play and felt comfortable. We had a good conversation and cleared everything up. He said he saw potential in me as an attacking midfielder. I believe I’ve been evolving a lot in that role. Being able to play more than one position is very good for a player. I believe that has been helping me a lot. He’s been giving me a lot of instructions to keep evolving. And I believe it’s been showing in these last games.”, he said.

“I’m enjoying playing there. I believe I’m managing to do well. It’s a somewhat new position for me, but I’m managing to evolve a lot.”, added the number 27.

The midfielder’s string of good performances has excited the Fiel, who see him as one of the team’s standouts. Breno Bidon revealed that he chooses not to follow social media comments, but still hears about them through friends. He also spoke about the rough patch he went through and how he overcame it.

“I try not to follow it much, I try to avoid it, but it always ends up reaching me, some friend sends it. I think it’s cool because it shows that I’m in a good moment, being compared to great players. But you have to keep a good head for both bad moments and good ones, so it doesn’t go to your head. You have to keep working so you don’t let it make you think life is already won.”, he stated.

“Every player has a down moment, and I ended up going through that. You have to keep a good head to turn it around. Every day we’re here training to give our best. Of course we never want to be in those rough patches, but sometimes it happens. You have to keep working, because there’s a game every week, you have to be well prepared to evolve. The confidence the team and the entire staff give me helps a lot.”, Bidon continued.

At the end of the interview, the midfielder also talked about his dreams and career goals. Like every player from Brazilian football, the Corinthians number 27 dreams of wearing the national team jersey and playing in a World Cup.

“A player always aims to be on the Brazilian national team. We have to work hard to one day be able to represent our country. We have to keep working more and more so that, God willing, one day we can play for the national team. Who knows, one day, play in a World Cup, which has been a dream since I was little.”, he concluded.

Breno Bidon looks to maintain his good form for Corinthians this Wednesday, the 15th, when Timão face Santos at Vila Belmiro. The match kicks off at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time) and will be valid for the 28th round of the Brazilian Championship.
