Manchester City travel to Brentford for their final outing before the latest international break of the ongoing campaign, having been unbeaten since the September pause.
Establishing a much stronger run of performances than in August, City have managed to record strong results in the Premier League with wins over Manchester United and Burnley, and in the Champions League and Carabao Cup against Napoli and Huddersfield respectively.
Pep Guardiola’s side put in a resilient performance to secure a point on the road against Arsenal, while last tie out saw an Eric Dier penalty in the dying embers of a European away trip to Monaco snatch a point for the hosts in a 2-2 draw.
Erling Haaland continues to score goals at a remarkable rate and appears to be improving with every passing match, while Phil Foden has been handling the No.10 responsibility with aplomb. Other notable performers include Jeremy Doku and Nico O’Reilly of late, too.
Last time out for the hosts Brentford, Keith Andrews’ squad dismantled of Ruben Amorim’s struggling Manchester United at home with a 3-1 victory – a result which will have no doubt caught the attention of Guardiola during his preparations for his own clash with the Bees.
Ahead of this weekend’s final contest before the start of the latest international break, here is everything you need to know ahead of the encounter at the Gtech Community Stadium in West London!
Brentford and Manchester City will face off at the Gtech Community Stadium in West London on Sunday 5 October, with kick-off scheduled for 16:30 (UK).

For the hosts Brentford, Fabio Carvalho was scheduled to train in the lead up to the clash against Manchester City and as such is in contention for Sunday’s clash having missed out against Manchester United last weekend with a minor knee injury.
Reiss Nelson is also expected to be available for Keith Andrews, having not featured for the club since his debut in a Carabao Cup clash Aston Villa, returning to training following an illness.
Having made his last appearance for Brentford in a pre-season fixture against Gil Vicente in Portugal back in July, the club have stated that Gustavo Nunes may also be available to add to the matchday squad against Manchester City having returned to first-team training this week.
Finally, Brentford have this week confirmed that Paris Maghoma is continuing to build his fitness through training with the B team this week having missed a large part of pre-season.
As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s situation remains unchanged from the 2-2 draw against AS Monaco, with Abdukodir Khusanov, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Omar Marmoush ruled out as they continue to recover from injury problems.
Rayan Cherki could yet be involved or miss out on the matchday squad this weekend, as the France international continues to develop his own fitness following a hamstring injury sustained in late August. The midfielder is training fully with the rest of the squad.

Pep Guardiola on Brentford under Keith Andrews: “Quite similar, little details but quite similar to Thomas Frank. They’re doing really well so it’s a tough place to go. At the same time, I’m looking forward to the last game before the international break.”
Pep Guardiola on progress since the September international break: “A lot. And the most happy thing is that the margins have improved – I love that feeling! I had a feeling before that we can do better and it is a feeling I like to have as a manager.”
