Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reacted to his former teammate Marcus Rashford grabbing a brace for Barcelona against Newcastle United tonight.

The Red Devils academy graduate is currently on loan with Barca, and while the Old Trafford club are struggling in front of goal, Rashford is shining for the La Liga club.

He helped the Spanish club secure a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park in their opening game of the 2025-26 Champions League campaign.

Fernandes was blown away with Rashford’s performance, taking to social media platform Instagram to share a clip of the England international scoring a stunner.

Man United head coach Ruben Amorim is not a fan of Rashford, making it clear last season that the 27-year-old is not in his plans going forward.

He left on loan for Aston Villa in the second half of the season, grabbing four goals and six assists in 17 appearances.

His impressive stint at the Midlands club earned him a temporary move to Barca, and they will likely exercise the option to sign him permanently for £30.3 million if he maintains his current form.

Rashford has yet to score in four La Liga appearances but has weighed in with one assist and his brilliant heroics tonight will endear him to Barca fans.

They return to league action on Sunday when they host Getafe, and the Man United-owned forward will hope to open his La Liga account.

The Red Devils are not in Europe this term and have already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup.

They lost 3-0 to Manchester City last weekend and will be back in action on Saturday when they host Chelsea.

Man United could do with a quality attacker like Rashford right now, but Amorim will fancy the chances of his current options getting the job done.
