Unai Núñez is set to face his parent club on Sunday when Valencia meet Celta, and he can play because no fear clause was inserted in January. The centre-back, on loan for a second straight season, has earned a starting spot under Carlos Corberán.

El Faro de Vigo reports that Celta have positive expectations of a summer sale, helped by his strong form in Mestalla. His high salary makes a Balaídos return unlikely, so another move from June looks the likeliest scenario.

Since arriving in January he has seven appearances, all starts, and 630 minutes. Corberán has underlined his versatility, using him at centre-back and right-back.

After Valencia's league win over Sevilla, Núñez said he only knows he must report to Vigo for pre-season. He noted he has two years left on his contract, is very happy at Valencia and will take things day by day, accepting that anything can happen in football.

Both clubs will assess his situation at season’s end. There is no purchase option in Valencia's loan. Celta included a five million euros clause when he joined Hellas Verona earlier this season, a figure viewed as the summer guide price, and for now it looks difficult for Valencia to reach that fee given recent precedents.
