Celtic ‘set to beat’ Schalke for Mika Baur signing

Celtic are edging closer to signing Mika Baur from SC Paderborn, as they look to beat Schalke to the 22-year-old’s signature.

According to Sky Sports, the midfielder is keen on the move and personal terms are unlikely to be an issue, thanks to the strong relationship between his agent, Christian Nerlinger, and Celtic.

Schalke have shown interest, but Celtic are working to complete the deal with immediate effect.

Celtic sealed another Scottish Premiership title by beating Hearts on the final day of the 2025/26 season.

Baur also finished strongly, with Paderborn winning promotion back to the Bundesliga after defeating Wolfsburg in the relegation/promotion play-off. He was ever-present in that campaign after spending the previous season on loan at Dynamo Dresden.
