Barcelona sporting director Deco has on Wednesday spoken out on the club’s plans for the summer transfer window.
And the Portuguese’s comments suggest that the Blaugrana will not seek out much in terms of reinforcement with a view to next season.
This comes with Hansi Flick and co. seemingly ready to lean ever further on the club’s remarkable crop of young talent.
La Masia graduates have of course continued to play a starring role for Barca across the 2024/25 campaign to date.
The likes of Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí, Alejandro Balde and Marc Casadó have all shone, to keep alive the Catalans’ pursuit of what would be a historic treble.
And, speaking to the media on Wednesday, the aforementioned Deco hinted that such dependence on youth is set to continue at the Camp Nou moving forward.
Drawn on Barcelona’s latest transfer plans, in quotes cited by Fabrizio Romano, the Blaugrana director explained:
“We don’t need to sign 4-5 players in current situation. At the moment, we’re pleased because we have fewer concerns about signing players than we did before. The young players are growing into their roles.”
