Defeat against Bayern

Eintracht couldn’t halt Bayern’s winning streak as they lost 3-0 at home, with Luis Díaz scoring twice and Harry Kane also on target.

Three changes to line-up Coach Dino Toppmöller made three changes for the meeting with Bayern. Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, Aurélio Buta and Hugo Larsson started in place of Ansgar Knauff, Nnamdi Collins and Farès Chaibi, who all began on the bench.  Behind instantly The game started in the worst way imaginable for the Eagles. After just 15 seconds, the Eintracht defence failed to clear a long ball properly, allowing Serge Gnabry to deliver a low ball into the penalty area, where Luis Díaz got ahead of Buta to turn in the opening goal. Equaliser disallowed Eintracht tried to hit back immediately and were celebrating after Bahoya delightfully curled the ball into the left corner from 16 metres. However, the goal was disallowed following a VAR review for a handball by Ritsu Doan in the build-up.

Kane makes it 2-0 The Bundesliga champions dictated play in the period that followed and doubled their lead in the 27th minute. Harry Kane was left unmarked 16 metres out and hammered the ball into the left corner with an unstoppable low strike. Chance for Burkardt In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Buta played in Burkardt on the counter but he couldn’t keep his shot down, leaving the score at 2-0 at half-time. Kane hits post  Bayern continued to dominate after the restart and Eintracht were lucky that Gnabry missed two good opportunities and Kane smashed the ball against the left post from close range inside the first 10 minutes of the second half. At the other end, Doan fired wide from 16 metres.

Knauff and Chaibi on With the introduction of Knauff and Chaibi for Larsson and Uzun on 70 minutes, the Eagles played with more aggression but were unable to fashion any clear-cut chances against a solid Bayern rearguard. Diaz adds third With 84 minutes gone, Buta gave away possession in midfield and Bayern countered, with Diaz beating Kaua Santos from close range to seal a 3-0 win at Deutsche Bank Park, which in the end was a fair result.
