Everton have confirmed that goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has signed a new four-year contract.

The England international’s previous deal was due to expire in 2027, but the Premier League club wanted to secure his future beyond that.

The experienced goalkeeper expressed his desire to help Everton return to European competition.

“I’m delighted,” he said. “Delighted to get it done – it’s an extra two years, so four years in total.

“I’m over the moon, and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, move forward and build this club to where we want to be.

“Everton is a really special club to me. Coming from Sunderland as a young lad and growing into a man here, it’s been a special time for me and my family.

“I think everyone’s seen the changes and how I’ve developed over time, but I’m still that lad who loves to keep the ball out of the net.

“It’s been Everton who have helped me develop, and a lot of hard work’s been put in as well.

“It’s always felt like a natural fit for me, with the fans and the passion – it’s second to none and something I thrive off. It’s been a mega journey so far.”

Everton recently extended the contracts of James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite until 2028 and 2030, respectively.

The Toffees are also looking to address the futures of James Garner and Vitaliy Mykolenko, with the duo’s contracts expiring in 2026.

Pickford has been a key player for the Merseyside club since his British-record move for a goalkeeper from Sunderland eight years ago.

He has made 326 appearances across all competitions for Everton, keeping 91 clean sheets in the process.

Pickford made his 300th Premier League appearance for his side in the 2-1 home victory against Crystal Palace last time.

He has also been England’s first-choice goalkeeper over the last seven years, with 80 appearances to his name.

Everton have made a positive start to the season under manager David Moyes. They are eighth in the standings with 11 points from seven matches.

They visit Manchester City on Saturday.
