Phil Parkinson hopes to have more first-team options available when Wrexham face Leeds United in Tampa this weekend. The manager is also balancing a couple of new fitness concerns.

"It's like the building blocks for us going into the American tour now," he told Wrexham's website. "We can bring a few players [back] now - Libby [Liberto Cacace], Sheafy [Ben Sheaf] and Josh Windass."

"Ryan Hardie and Elliot [Lee] have unfortunately picked up injuries which are hopefully not too serious."

Wrexham drew 0-0 with Wisla Krakow in Poland, then beat Manchester United 1-0 in Helsinki on Saturday. Sam Smith struck in the 39th minute against a mixed-strength side featuring Bryan Mbeumo and £50 million summer signing Andrey Santos.

Leeds begin their USA tour against the Championship outfit at 12.30am UK time on Sunday. By kick-off in Tampa, Wrexham will be less than two weeks from starting their 2026/27 campaign.

Leeds are likely to field a mixed-strength side, with World Cup quartet Brenden Aaronson, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Ao Tanaka and Noah Okafor still on post-World Cup breaks. There could be minutes for new signings Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic.
