Wrexham head to Tampa to face Leeds United at 12.30am UK time on Sunday, with Phil Parkinson hoping to regain several first-team players following a 1-0 win over Manchester United.

Parkinson said on the club website that Liberto Cacace, Ben Sheaf and Josh Windass could return, while Ryan Hardie and Elliot Lee have picked up injuries that he hopes are not too serious.

Wrexham are deeper into pre-season, having drawn 0-0 with Wisla Krakow in Poland. They then beat Manchester United 1-0 in Helsinki on Saturday, Sam Smith scoring in the 39th minute against a mixed-strength side including Bryan Mbeumo and £50million Andrey Santos.

He viewed the outing as useful building blocks for the American tour, noting the squad’s progress and that the performance offers a solid base for the trip.

Leeds begin their USA tour with a likely mixed-strength side, with Brenden Aaronson, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Ao Tanaka and Noah Okafor not yet back from post-World Cup breaks. There could be chances for new arrivals Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic.

With two games already played, Wrexham look well placed to test Leeds and are less than two weeks from the start of their 2026/27 campaign.
