Former Roma defender Kostas Manolas took a dig at Juventus after their Champions League exit following a defeat to Galatasaray.
Manolas did not hold back from rubbing salt on the Bianconeri’s wounds after failing to complete a comeback on aggregate against Galatasaray in the Champions League Round of 16 playoffs, as he posted: “Certain feats are only for gladiators” on his Instagram (via La Gazzetta dello Sport).
The 34-year-old Greek international recalled the Giallorossi’s dramatic comeback victory against Barcelona in 2018, where he scored the winning goal to make the second-leg scoreline 3-0 after a 4-1 first-leg defeat.
Juventus faced a similar scenario to that of Roma in 2018 this season as they suffered a 5-2 away loss to the Turkish side. While they attempted a comeback and ultimately won the second leg by a 3-2 margin, the Old Lady lost the tie on aggregate, thus failing to qualify for the Round of 16.
