According to Turkish-Football.com, Galatasaray have accelerated their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte, seeking to capitalise on uncertainty over his Old Trafford future.

Ugarte joined United from PSG in 2024 for £50.5 million (€60m) but has struggled to secure a regular place under Michael Carrick. He has started only seven Premier League matches, behind Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro.

United are open to cutting their losses this summer.

Galatasaray are leaning on their Uruguayan core, with Fernando Muslera and Lucas Torreira in frequent contact to outline life at RAMS Park and the club’s Champions League ambitions. A Torreira-Ugarte partnership in midfield is seen as a dream scenario for Okan Buruk.

The proposed structure is an initial high-value loan with a mandatory purchase clause, likely priced at €30m to €35m.

The champions of Türkiye have made the 24-year-old their priority for the 2026 summer window.
