Kai Havertz wins his first league title as Arsenal confirmed champions before the final matchday of the season on Sunday. After the German international scored the goal that secured a narrow victory over Burnley yesterday, Manchester City failed to restore the two-point gap as they drew with AFC Bournemouth.

As a result, Arsenal sealed the title before they visited Crystal Palace on matchday 38. Mikel Arteta’s side ended the club’s 22-year wait for the Premier League trophy. They could do the double on May 30th as the Gunners await the Champions League final against holders PSG in Budapest, Hungary.

Havertz scored the only goal of the game when Chelsea beat Manchester City in the 2020-21 final. The 26-year-old attacker is expected to make Julian Nagelsmann's squad for the World Cup on Thursday.

There is another Bayer Leverkusen connection in Arsenal’s success story as Piero Hincapié is a key figure in their excellent defensive record. Arsenal are expected to sign the Ecuadorian on a permanent basis after his solid loan spell.

Mikel Merino (Borussia Dortmund) and Viktor Gyökeres (St. Pauli) also had previous experience in German football from Arsenal’s Premier League-winning squad.
