Grêmio have cleared Braithwaite for full training and he is now available to head coach Luís Castro.

Globo.com reports that the Dane was signed off by the physio and medical staff 11 days ahead of schedule, initial plans had him cleared on 16 March. He trained without restrictions on Thursday and welcomed the step but stopped short of fixing a comeback date.

He will not be in the squad for the Gre-Nal nor for next Thursday's meeting with Red Bull Bragantino. The subsequent match against Chapecoense on synthetic turf is also unlikely to mark his comeback. The current expectation is that he will be listed on 19 March against Vitória at the Arena.

Braithwaite has completed two full sessions and is set for a third on Saturday, with staff monitoring his response. Since 18 February he has done ball work under controlled conditions before stepping up this week.

The centre-forward has been sidelined since September after rupturing the left Achilles tendon and undergoing surgery. During his lay-off he adjusted his diet and worked with a personal physiotherapist. He returns as an option, with Carlos Vinicius the starter on nine goals in 14 matches this year but without a goal in five.
