Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes is attracting significant overseas interest, yet the club have received no official bids and intend to hold a firm financial line.
According to L'Équipe, at least three foreign clubs have opened talks with TFC: Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Napoli. Each offers a different project to the France Under-21 international, 21, with 19 caps.
At Villa, who expect to lose Emiliano Martinez after the World Cup, Restes could compete at the top end of the Premier League and in the Champions League. The immediate pressure would be lower at newly promoted Ipswich.
At Napoli, he could replace Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who is on his way out. With Massimiliano Allegri yet to be appointed, and Alex Meret’s future unclear, questions remain over what role Restes would play.
While there have been approaches, Toulouse would not consider any proposal starting with a 1, effectively ruling out fees below €20m.
Spanish and French clubs have also enquired. Restes is following developments calmly and will prioritise the sporting project. He is under contract until 2028, and a move would allow TFC to promote 19-year-old Mathys Niflore as number one, supported by goalkeeping coach Éric Allibert, recently extended by two years.
