Habib Beye ‘to join’ Marseille after agreement in principle | OneFootball

Habib Beye has reached an agreement in principle to join Marseille, according to RMC Sport.

Franck Haise’s arrival at Rennes was confirmed on Wednesday, with the former OGC Nice manager succeeding Beye at Roazhon Park. Beye’s departure had been protracted, after the club placed the Senegalese coach on leave the previous Monday.

Since then, he emerged as the leading candidate to replace Roberto De Zerbi at Marseille. The Italian left in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The process appeared to be complicated when sporting director Medhi Benatia’s exit was announced. Frank McCourt then brought Benatia back in.

The report adds that McCourt has handed the Moroccan greater powers at the expense of Pablo Longoria.

Beye could be on the bench for Friday’s game against Stade Brestois if the deal is finalised in time.
