Football League World looks at how much Lyndon Dykes currently earns at Birmingham City amid interest from Championship rivals Charlton Athletic

Birmingham City are poised to sanction a mass squad exodus throughout the January transfer window in order to make room for fresh reinforcements ahead of a fresh promotion push moving into the second-half of the Championship campaign.

Blues have endured mixed fortunes upon returning to English football's second-tier from League One with an EFL-record points haul of 111, with Chris Davies' costly-assembled side yet to really establish themselves as firm promotion contenders amid significant internal and external expectation.

Indeed, Davies himself has been anything but immune from pressure and scrutiny surrounding his position at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park and a huge month now beckons, with no shortage of both incomings and outgoings as Blues seek to double-down on their Premier League pursuit.

As exclusively revealed by Football League World this week, Birmingham are prepared to green-light up to seven more exits this month following the termination of Eiran Cashin's loan spell, with the defender having now joined Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Lyndon Dykes has also been lined up for a Second City departure in the coming weeks amid interest from Charlton Athletic, but FLW understands that the Scottish international frontman will be prohibited from moving to the Addicks or elsewhere until a replacement is sourced.

Charlton are continuing to fight against relegation back to League One and will be monitoring Dykes' situation with intent, and as his future remains up in the air, FLW has taken a look at how much Blues are currently paying the striker ahead of a potential exit.

How much Birmingham City are paying Lyndon Dykes in wages amid Charlton Athletic transfer interest

According to Capology, a site which offers estimated figures on player and club salaries, Dykes is collecting a weekly pay-packet of £15,000 at Birmingham right now.

This equates to a yearly salary of £780,000, which positions the ex-QPR forward as something of a mid-range earner in Davies' side.

That's because nine players are estimated to earn healthier salaries, although Dykes is still believed to be taking home more than the likes of Jay Stansfield, Tomoki Iwata and Ethan Laird.

If Dykes does end up at Charlton without any changes to his present salary, however, he would arrive among the top earners under Nathan Jones.

The Addicks' top earner is said to be goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski on a weekly wage of £20,000, and Dykes could be tied in second-place with Luke Berry on £15,000 per week.

Birmingham City's Lyndon Dykes could be an astute signing for Nathan Jones at Charlton Athletic

As aforementioned, Charlton are currently fighting against the threat of dropping straight back into League One following last term's promotion alongside Blues, with the two sides unsurprisingly enduring different trajectories both on-and-off the pitch.

Charlton are yet to see a tangible return on investment from Charlie Kelman and Isaac 'Tanto' Olaofe, whereas Miles Leaburn has shown signs of promise without the goal return to match, and you get the feeling that Jones is in desperate need of a seasoned Championship goalscorer in order to steer his side away from relegation.

Dykes is exactly that, having found the back of the net on 37 occasions from 165 appearances at QPR before his switch to Blues.

The ex-Livingston man has found game time consistently hard to come by with Birmingham and started just nine third-tier outings last term, with minutes even more reduced this time around following the high-profile arrivals of Marvin Ducksch and Kyogo Furuhashi, but he has still popped up with crucial late winners in his primary role as an impact substitute and, with his physicality and proven second-tier track record, this could prove an incredibly-useful move if Charlton can get a deal done before the window slams shut.
