According to Globo.com, Palmeiras have a verbal agreement with Cruzeiro to loan Bruno Rodrigues until December, with no upfront fee and an option to buy of around 5 million dollars.

That figure equates to about R$ 26.1 million at the current rate, slightly above the roughly R$ 25 million Palmeiras paid in 2023 for 80% of the forward’s rights.

He was left out of the squad for Sunday’s match against Guarani, the final round of the Paulista first phase, and is expected in Belo Horizonte to formalise the move.

Rodrigues joined Palmeiras in December 2023 after scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists for Cruzeiro, a key part in keeping the Raposa up. He had attracted interest from Fluminense, Bahia, Internacional and Grêmio before signing.

He played only two matches before a ruptured knee ligament, then sustained the same injury in the other knee as he neared a return. He reappeared in September last year, alternating starts and bench, and scored two in 11 games.

He ended the year fined after taking part in a holiday tournament without notifying the club. In 2026 he has played four games without scoring, had received enquiries about a move, and early talks with Internacional did not advance before Cruzeiro negotiations moved forward at the weekend.
