Leeds United have started the window strongly, signing free agent Harry Wilson and £34 million centre-back Tarik Muharemovic, and hope to accelerate business. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, they are hopeful of agreeing a deal for Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford after a recent departure left a vacancy.
Leeds continue to pursue Julian Brandt and have drawn a line in the sand over another key target. Their goalkeeping rebuild is also shaped by Illan Meslier’s departure last month to Arsenal, where he is currently third choice.
Karl Darlow has joined Manchester United on a free. A new contract is understood to have been offered at Elland Road, but plans to recruit a new goalkeeper meant no assurance of the first-choice role.
Lucas Perri’s future is uncertain while the club search for a new first choice. The Brazilian has reportedly attracted interest from Serie A side Torino, and is unlikely to leave before a replacement arrives.
Sebastiaan Bornauw has been linked in Germany with FC Koln, who want defensive experience, although it is unclear whether the Belgian wishes to move or if Leeds would approve a sale.
Pascal Struijk has ended an eight-and-a-half year stint by joining Brighton in a deal worth £18 million plus £2 million in add-ons, with a sell-on clause also included. Earlier this month, Isaac Schmidt left for BSC Young Boys for around £2 million, protecting Leeds’ book value on the full-back.
