Leeds United are pursuing first-choice goalkeeper James Trafford and remain in the mix for Champions League veteran Julian Brandt, while several departures edge closer.

Leeds have been hopeful of a deal for the Manchester City keeper if an Etihad exit could be arranged. David Ornstein reports that the 23-year-old now appears to favour Elland Road, with Newcastle no longer considering him despite past interest. He is currently on a FIFA-mandated three-week break after England's World Cup involvement.

Leeds have not actively pursued other names such as Japan international Zion Suzuki, instead waiting on Trafford. A deal is not yet agreed with City, though the clubs have held talks.

Leeds also hope Brandt will settle on his future soon. His father Jurgen visited Thorp Arch for discussions last week, and the German has been keeping fit at Bayer Leverkusen's facilities while weighing options.
