City boss Andrée Jeglertz has confirmed Lauren Hemp will be sidelined for a few weeks with an ankle injury.

The England international had a scan on the issue earlier this week after landing awkwardly during our recent 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Results of the scan confirmed Hemp's set for a few weeks on the sidelines, as our preparations for Sunday's Barclays Women's Super League clash with London City Lionesses continue.

And while the winger will be unavailable for our immediate fixtures, Jeglertz is hopeful that her return isn't too far away.

"She [Lauren Hemp] has an ankle injury and is out for a couple of weeks," our Head Coach confirmed.

"Of course, it’s a tough situation for her. She wants to play and we want her to play but injuries happen.

"She is doing everything she can to get back as quickly as possible and she needs to support the team in another way. Hopefully she will be back soon."

City's head coach was also provided an update on Sydney Lohmann and Rebecca Knaak's rehabilitation.

Midfielder Lohmann has been absent since our opening day defeat to Chelsea, meanwhile, her Germany international teammate has been unavailable across the term so far after picking up an injury at Euro 2025.

But Jeglertz explained both are back in on-field training and will be assessed before our meeting with London City Lionesses on Sunday.

He added: "[They] both are back in team training. We’ll see how it is tomorrow but they’re back on the field."
