Jérémy Jacquet interested in Chelsea move as Rennes set €60m+ valuation | OneFootball

Chelsea have entered into talks with Rennes for the potential signing of France U21 international centre-back Jérémy Jacquet (20), as previously reported by several outlets. The Ligue 1 side initially planned to keep hold of their prized asset until the summer, when major European clubs would certainly come circling. But Chelsea are intent to steal a march on their rivals in signing Jacquet this winter.

Ouest-France reports that Jacquet is not insensitive to this pronounced interest from Chelsea. The outlet also evokes a possible agreement on the terms of a multi-year contract with Liam Rosenior’s West London side. Although Rennes want to stick to their plan and keep Jacquet until the end of the season, they have been invited to entertain talks with the BlueCo-owned outfit.

RMC Sport understands that Chelsea are set to submit a €50m bid for Jacquet, who is reportedly valued north of €60m by his formative side. Rennes host Le Havre this Sunday, but Jacquet will miss out through suspension.
