José Mourinho flags Leandro Barreiro doubt before Casa Pia v Benfica

José Mourinho has revealed Leandro Barreiro is a doubt for Benfica’s trip to Casa Pia on Monday in the 28th round. According to Glorioso 1904, he said Barreiro was the only international to return with a problem.

The midfielder has not trained since coming back. Mourinho said he would take to the pitch on Saturday for the first time, under restrictions, and a decision on his availability would follow Sunday’s session.

Mourinho noted Casa Pia have improved since their new head coach arrived, with a clear playing identity capable of troubling stronger teams.

He also recalled Casa Pia had already taken points off Benfica earlier in the campaign in what he considered a strange game, adding that many strange things have happened in the league since the start.

The 63-year-old was speaking on Saturday, 4 April.
