Junior Barranquilla general manager Héctor Fabio Baez says Botafogo and Grêmio are behind on payments for Jordan Barrera and José Enamorado, speaking to Win Sports.
"We sold Enamorado and have not yet received the first payment. We sold Jordan Barrera and a Botafogo instalment is more than 60 days late. We need commitment. As players leave, others arrive, and we need cash flow to honour these commitments. There are obligations that must be met."
Barrera moved to Botafogo in July 2025, with the Rio club acquiring 90% of his economic rights. The deal was worth US$ 4 million, about R$ 21.8 million at the time.
Enamorado joined Grêmio at the start of this year as the club’s second signing for 2026, penning a contract to the end of 2028. The fee was around US$ 3 million, approximately R$ 16.2 million.
Botafogo are next in action against Boavista in the first leg of the Taça Rio semi-final at 21h (Brasília time) on Saturday, at Estádio Elcyr Resende in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro.
