It seems Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez’s transfer to PSG from FC Barcelona is on the verge of completion.
Indeed, according to journalist Santi Aouna, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the French and European champions.
Now, the Parisian giants are poised to activate his €6 million release clause before making the deal official.
This comes as a bitter blow for Barcelona, who had shown tremendous faith in Dro over the past months, backing him to make it in the first-team setup despite his young age.
Hansi Flick, in particular, saw the youngster, who turned 18 earlier this month, as a personal bet and had him in his plans for the future.
However, Dro has opted to move on amid concerns over his progression in the first-team squad at Barcelona, considering Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez are firmly ahead of him in the pecking order and have their entire careers ahead of them still.
As such, the youngster has opted to move on, and it appears that he has chosen PSG as his next destination, with the presence of Luis Enrique as manager seemingly playing a key role in his decision.
An agreement over a contract for four-and-a-half years has now been reached, and soon his €6 million release clause will be triggered.
Barring any last-minute twists, Dro is on his way to becoming a PSG player, with a deal that will run until 2030.
