Leeds United unveil USA tour squad, four absent, Noah Okafor given break | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed their squad for a pre-season tour of the United States, with four absentees and Noah Okafor not included.

The club said in a statement that Okafor has been given an extended break after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals with Switzerland, which explains his omission.

Daniel Farke’s side will be based at Red Bull’s new training facility in Morristown, New Jersey, and will face Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool. They will travel to Tampa and Chicago for the Wrexham and Liverpool fixtures.

Largie Ramazani, Joe Gelhardt, Max Wober and Jack Harrison are not travelling. There is interest in Ramazani from Valencia, where he made 27 appearances on loan last season, scoring six and providing one assist, and he is almost certain to leave this summer. Gelhardt helped Hull City win promotion and his future lies elsewhere.

Wober endured an injury-hit loan at Werder Bremen last term and had hoped to feature in pre-season, but his absence points to a departure. Harrison has been linked with a return to MLS after joining Fiorentina on loan in January, and no permanent move has materialised.

The touring party blends established seniors with Under-21 players, with some to join later after World Cup duty. Leeds also noted that pre-season shirt numbers may differ from those used once the Premier League campaign begins.
