Leicester City's pre-season friendly against Malaga on Saturday has been switched to Marbella due to concerns over the pitch at Estadio Nuevo Mirador in Algeciras.
The club said in a statement that the change of venue had been agreed with both teams, adding that tickets already purchased for the original stadium will not be valid and apologising for the short notice and inconvenience.
The Foxes had planned to play two matches at the home of Spanish third-tier side Algeciras during their warm-weather camp, having beaten Cadiz 1-0 on Wednesday before meeting Malaga at the weekend.
After Wednesday's game, both Leicester and Cadiz raised concerns about the playing surface. Head coach Russell Martin expressed frustration on the night, and discussions were held over whether the match should proceed. With player safety and pre-season preparations in mind, an alternative venue in Marbella, previously used by Wolves and Liverpool, will now host the fixture.
Supporters who bought tickets for the original venue will receive automatic refunds. Fans wishing to attend in Marbella will need to purchase new tickets.
