There's another Dominik Szoboszlai at Liverpool ready to be unleashed by Arne Slot.

The Hungarian has been the Reds' best player since the start of the season. There's no disputing at the moment that Szoboszlai is one of the first names on the team-sheet.

He isn't just making key goal contributions - like the dummy against Newcastle, the free-kick against Arsena and now the corner delivery against Atletico Madrid - but he's also making a difference with his overall play.

Szoboszlai's energy and constant running on the pitch has made him essential to Slot's system - he's the player who makes everything tick.

In the Reds' last game against Atletico Madrid, Szoboszlai not only covered the most distances (12km) on the pitch but he also made the most recoveries (10).

He's simply a machine and on top of that he has proven he can play anywhere on the pitch.

Szoboszlai has often earned comparisons to Steven Gerrard. But for the next generation they'll be compared to the Hungarian instead.

In fact, Liverpool have already signed a young and exciting midfielder who is catching the eye in the club's academy and who has been playing similarly to Szoboszlai.

Someone who is very highly rated by Slot and has already played a handful of first team games, too.

Why Trey Nyoni is like Szoboszlai

We're talking about Nyoni, who put in a similarly brilliant performance in the UEFA Youth League for Liverpool's U19 side against Atletico Madrid.

Nyoni covered every blade of grass on the pitch and made a whopping 16 recoveries in the match, which was the highest for Liverpool.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to secure victory for the young Reds, although they got close to it.

Nyoni like Szoboszlai is capable of dominating the midfield and being everywhere. He was dictating the rhythm of play and very much leading by example, completing 58 out of 62 pass attempts.

This isn't where the comparison ends either. Like Szoboszlai, Nyoni has recently featured as a full-back for England's U19 side, being deployed at left-back in a game against Ukraine during the September international break.

So, he's got versatility just like the Hungarian. Nyoni can play as a no.6, he can be used as a no.8 and even as a no.10. Under Slot, he's played every role in the first team. He even played as a centre-back against Athletic Bilbao.

In pre-season, Nyoni was just as impressive as Ngumoha.
