Liverpool ‘to sign’ Leipzig’s Lutsharel Geertruida on loan

Liverpool are closing in on a loan for RB Leipzig defender Lutsharel Geertruida to reinforce right-back, with Sky Germany reporting a full agreement is in place.

The Bundesliga side, who hold his contract until 2029, are set to give the reigning Premier League champions the green light, the report adds.

Liverpool have been searching for a new right-back for weeks, and Geertruida is now set to be their choice. The versatile 25-year-old fits the brief.

Fabrizio Romano states that Liverpool are in direct contact with Sunderland, the club currently loaning Geertruida from Leipzig.

Geertruida broke through at Feyenoord before joining Leipzig for €20million in August 2024. He has made 35 appearances for the Saxony-based side in all competitions, scoring once and supplying one assist.
