Luis García Plaza to continue as Sevilla FC confirm, pre-season starts 3 July | OneFootball

Sevilla FC have officially confirmed Luis García Plaza will remain head coach for next season. The club said in a statement that pre-season will begin on 3 July with medical tests, with training from Monday 6 July.

The decision ends uncertainty and sets the summer market in motion under the Madrid-born coach. Plaza took charge for the final nine league matches and clinched survival, activating an automatic extension.

A run of three straight wins against Real Sociedad, Espanyol and Villarreal proved decisive.

Until last week, Sergio Ramos’ arrival was widely viewed inside the club as a formality, a move linked to José Bordalás for the dugout. With that pursuit ultimately abandoned, García Plaza has been informed he will lead planning alongside José Ignacio Navarro.

He now gets the chance to start from day one, part of a push to restore stability after four consecutive years of premature changes.

Navarro has assumed the sporting direction following Antonio Cordón’s departure. Preparations will take place at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios, with ownership remaining the club’s only unresolved issue.
