Hasegawa has made a real impact at Manchester City since arriving at the club from West Ham United in summer 2022. The player has cemented her place in the midfield and has become one of The Cityzens’ most important players. Hasegawa has made 95 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions and she has been a hugely reliable option throughout her time in the North West.

With Manchester City looking to bounce back under new boss Andrée Jeglertz, Hasegawa has a key role to play and the club have therefore moved to retain her services for the next four years.

After signing on again with Manchester City, Hasegawa said “I’m very happy to have signed my contract extension, I’m so excited.

“I really want to win the title at this club and there are players I want to play with. This is one of the biggest reasons [why I wanted] to stay here.

“I think the new things always have a good impact on the team, so the new manager and new players are so good, and it makes me have to work hard.”

Manchester City kick-off the new Barclays Women’s Super League season with a fixture at Chelsea tomorrow night.
