Manchester United offer Andre Onana on loan to Trabzonspor | OneFootball

Manchester United have reportedly offered Turkish club Trabzonspor the chance to sign Andre Onana on loan.

Sporx claims Trabzonspor are in the market for a new goalkeeper after Ugurcan Cakir joined Galatasaray.

They have enquired about Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega, who is behind new signings Gianluigi Donnarumma and James Trafford in the pecking order.

United have now offered Onana to them on a season-long loan deal.

The Cameroonian joined United in 2023, but inconsistent displays and high-profile errors have characterised his time at the club.

The 29-year-old made five errors leading to goals as United finished 15th in the Premier League last season.

Onana suffered a hamstring issue earlier this summer and missed the bulk of the pre-season preparations.

Manager Ruben Amorim wanted another goalkeeper, and the club signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp before the transfer deadline.

The Belgian is relatively young and inexperienced, but he is expected to challenge for a starting spot.

Altay Bayindir played the first three league matches, but he failed to impress.

The Portuguese boss brought in Onana for the League Cup game against Grimsby Town, but his two mistakes led to two goals. The League Two side ultimately won the match on penalties.

United did not actively seek to offload Onana during the summer transfer window, but they have changed their stance after signing Lammens.
