Marco Silva ‘to keep’ Manu Silva at Benfica | OneFootball

According to CNN Portugal, Marco Silva has decided Manu Silva will stay in Benfica's squad and also wants Georgiy Sudakov to remain. The midfielder had been set to leave in this summer window.

Manu Silva, 24, joined from Vitória de Guimarães last season for 12 million euros plus a further 2 million in add-ons. He saw little action under José Mourinho.

His minutes were curtailed mainly by a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in February 2025. He returned in November that year in the Champions League against Ajax.

Even after regaining fitness, the number 16 did not convince Mourinho. He is contracted until 2030 and now has a chance to stake a claim.

In 2025/26 he made 12 appearances for Benfica, nine in Liga Portugal Betclic, one in the Champions League, one in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga, for 258 minutes in total. He is valued at 7 million euros.
