Manchester United’s Mason Mount is finally off the mark for the 2025/26 season.
Ruben Amorim’s side lead Sunderland 1-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League, thanks to an early strike from the 26-year-old inside the opening 10 minutes.
Mount latched onto a cross from Bryan Mbeumo and, with an exquisite touch and finish, drilled the ball beyond Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs.
In doing so, he not only opened his account for the season but also scored the earliest goal United have netted in the Premier League since Amorim’s opening game against Ipswich Town last year.
Roefs was called into action again shortly after, denying Amad from the edge of the box.
United have found their second goal, though, with Benjamin Šeško firing home to give the hosts a crucial buffer.
