Ansu Fati (22) has hit the ground running at AS Monaco. The Spaniard arrived at the Principality club in the summer, on loan from formative club Barcelona, looking to get his career back on track.

Thus far, it is proving to be a successful stint. In just five games, he already has six goals for Les Monégasques. In the deal, Monaco included a buy option. Transfermarkt estimates that the buy option is valued at €10m.

Speaking at the presentation of the club’s new manager, Sébastien Pocognoli, Monaco’s CEO Thiago Scuro evoked the possibility of triggering that option. “It isn’t a topic for us,” began Scuro in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.

“The topic is just continuing to provide Fati the conditions to allow him to keep having minutes and being an important and consistent player for AS Monaco. The business side is not important now. At the right time, we will make the decision. Monaco are protected in this situation by the agreement that we have with the player and Barca. The target is performance and keeping him on the pitch,” he added.
