Vitor Pereira hailed his players after reaching the Europa League semi-finals, but is worried that Callum Hudson-Odoi has suffered a muscle injury.

Morgan Gibbs-White’s deflected strike gave Forest a 1-0 win over Porto at the City Ground and a 2-1 aggregate victory following their draw in Portugal last week.

Forest will now face fellow Premier League side Aston Villa in the semi-finals and boss Pereira lauded the achievement of his players.

“I have a fantastic team, it’s not about the manager,” he said after the victory. “They have the spirit, character and quality. They deserve it. The club and the supporters they deserve it.

“We need to suffer together and we need to feel proud at the end of a game. Feel proud about the supporters and about the result on the pitch.”

Forest were handed three injury worries during the game, however, ahead of their crucial Premier League clash against Burnley on Sunday as Pereira’s side switch their attentions back to a relegation battle.

Hudson-Odoi, Murillo and Chris Wood were all forced off, but Pereira is hopeful that the latter two’s issues are not serious.

“Only Hudson-Odoi, maybe, was a muscular injury,” he said. “We don’t know.

“The other two I think they will recover.”
