Work on the Nuevo Mestalla is advancing, with a planned capacity of 70,044 that would place it among Spain’s biggest. Valencia are expected to start playing there from summer 2027.
According to AS, the updated design features a full-cover roof that will shield all supporters from rain and sun, plus a vast photovoltaic system among the largest at any stadium.
A light, open Mediterranean facade will harness Valencia’s climate and improve ventilation. Acoustic engineering aims to channel crowd noise back towards the pitch for a pressure cooker feel.
The lower tier will house about 21,500 seats closest to the action. The middle tier will hold roughly 16,700, hosting a large share of premium services. The upper tier will be the largest, with almost 32,000 seats and clear sightlines.
More than 6,500 hospitality places and private boxes are planned to boost club revenue. Sustainability targets include high-level environmental certifications through water management and solar power.
Year-round use is planned, with retail and dining areas open 365 days. A 6,000 square metre fan zone will serve matchday build-up and events.
A new interactive club museum will showcase Valencia’s history and offer technology-led tours. Accessibility will meet the latest standards for reduced-mobility fans across all levels.
The estimated cost to complete the project is around 240 million euros. The venue is positioned as a key asset for Valencia’s ambitions to host major international events, European finals and a World Cup bid.
Once inaugurated, the current Mestalla will be demolished to make way for housing and a green space, closing 100 years of history.
