A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona would be more than happy to see out the remainder of his playing days on the club’s books.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Ronald Araújo as the player in question.
Stopper Araújo is for his part fresh off a much-needed statement performance last time out.
Afforded a starting berth in Barcelona’s La Liga trip to Real Oviedo, the Uruguayan enjoyed a solid defensive showing, also playing a leading role in the Blaugrana’s comeback courtesy of a direct hand in the game’s equaliser, before netting his side’s third goal.
Prior to as much, though, Araújo had spent a lengthy stretch under fire on the part of the Barca fanbase.
As much came owing to more than a few shaky performances between late last season, and the early weeks of the new term.
As alluded to above, though, despite such criticism giving rise to regular exit links, the 26-year-old is for his part fully committed to matters in Catalunya’s capital.
As per a report from MD:
‘If circumstances remain the same, the defender would be happy to end his professional career at Barça, the club that gave him the opportunity to establish himself among the elite.’
