On-loan Barcelona star explodes into life with 3rd goal in two games | OneFootball

A member of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona on Sunday continued to provide cause for optimism when it comes to his return to form.

The player in question? Ansu Fati.

Wide-man Ansu was of course allowed to depart Catalunya’s capital on loan earlier this summer.

After a difficult season under the watch of new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, the Spaniard linked up with AS Monaco for the season ahead.

The hope was that Ansu would make use of his move to France to rediscover his brilliant best, in the process convincing the brass at the Stade Louis II to splash out on his signature.

And after a hugely underwhelming start, over recent days, the 22-year-old has suddenly burst into life.

Introduced off the bench against Club Brugge in the Champions League in midweek, Ansu notched a consolation in a disappointing defeat for Monaco.

And on Sunday, the Spaniard built upon as much with another starring display.

Thrown on at half-time in a Ligue 1 meeting with Metz, Ansu took just minutes to put Monaco in front, before adding a 2nd with 83 minutes on the clock to break the deadlock once more.

Adi Hütter’s troops from here kicked on to an eventual 5-2 triumph, on an evening of positive signs for club and player alike.
