“For Rangers, they’ve got to be careful because taking an 18-year-old into the Glasgow pressure cooker isn’t always easy either, and that may not be the best platform.”
He was speaking on the Inside Track Podcast. Rangers and Nottingham Forest have been linked with a summer move for Sunderland forward Finn Geragusian, who is viewed internally as a first-team prospect.
The 18-year-old has 13 goals and three assists in 27 outings across Sunderland’s Under-21s and Under-18s this season. He was named on the bench for the FA Cup fifth round defeat at Port Vale, then received his first senior Armenia call-up.
He made his debut earlier this week, replacing Grant-Leon Ramos for the final half-hour of a 2-1 friendly loss to Belarus. Coach Yegishe Melikyan said he sought attacking options and a push in Geragusian’s development, adding he is not yet ready for senior level.
“My first question is why are Sunderland letting him go?”
“It can be difficult for some people, so I’d want to do some research into the personality and the character of the player.”
