RB Leipzig bosses were aggrieved by a missed penalty in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg, and say referees have been phoning to apologise for recent errors.

According to BuLi News, sporting director Marcel Schäfer believes Conrad Harder was denied a clear spot-kick and argued a run of recent decisions has gone against Die Roten Bullen.

Schäfer said Harder was brought down while heading out of the penalty area, maintaining that, in his view, it should have been awarded.

Head coach Ole Werner echoed the frustration, noting the club have received near-weekly calls from referees admitting mistakes. He added the apologies were not necessary, as he did not think the errors were deliberate.

Werner said he had a feeling they might receive another phone call tomorrow.
