As has already been established, Real Madrid will enter the market for defensive reinforcements next summer as David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger could bid goodbye at the end of the season when their contracts expire.
Established names like Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano, and Marc Guehi have all been mentioned as possible targets for the Spanish heavyweights heading into the summer.
At the same time, though, the Merengues are not forgetting their academy and have earmarked Joan Martinez as an option for a first-team promotion, with Xabi Alonso closely following the teenager.
Meanwhile, according to reports relayed by Defensa Central, Real Madrid have not lost sight of another of their academy defenders, Jacobo Ramon, who left the club last summer.

Jacobo left Real Madrid to join Como in the summer in a deal worth €2.5 million plus add-ons. As was agreed with the Serie A outfit for Nico Paz, Los Blancos retained a 50% future sell-on clause and buyback options for next three years for the centre-back as well.
Jacobo has adapted well to Serie A since his move, making six appearances for Cesc Fabregas’ team, even scoring a goal.
Real Madrid, for their part, are continuing to keep a close eye on his progress with the Italian club, knowing that they can bring him back by using the buyback option in the agreement.
Los Blancos are understood to have already made the decision to re-sign Nico Paz from Como next summer. Whether they decide to pull the trigger on Jacobo as well will be interesting to see.
