Real Madrid entered the international break in perfect form, winning all three of their La Liga matches under Xabi Alonso.

With confidence high, the team now has a clear target – achieving a significant winning streak that has so far eluded them.

The benchmark is ten consecutive victories across all competitions – a feat the club has not managed since December 12, 2021, which is nearly four years ago.

Back in the 2021-22 season, the team achieved seven straight wins in La Liga and three in the Champions League.

Since then, Madrid has come close but never quite reached ten consecutive victories.

They recorded nine straight wins in the 2022-23 season and seven in 2023-24. Last season, their longest winning run was only five matches, highlighting how difficult sustaining momentum has been for the Whites.

Building momentum for the season ahead

Thanks to a strong start under Alonso, Real Madrid are well-positioned to extend their streak.

Returning from the international break, the team will aim to add more victories to their current three-game run.

As such, this winning streak carries strategic importance. Maintaining consecutive wins would solidify Madrid’s place at the top of the La Liga table and provide a strong foundation for their Champions League campaign.

However, the road won’t be easy as their next opponent are Real Sociedad. After that, they play Marseille in the UEFA Champions League, followed by a home game against Espanyol and an away tie against Levante.

This will be followed by an all-important Madrid derby away from home before they travel to Kazakhstan to take on Kairat.

If they win all these matches, the final game of the streak will be against Villarreal at Santiago Bernabeu on October 5.

With form, focus, and determination, Real Madrid fans have plenty of reason to be optimistic about what’s to come.
