Kylian Mbappe has been the undisputed leader of the Real Madrid frontline this season, outshining talented stars such as Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.
As we almost reach the halfway point of the campaign, the Frenchman, who has recently become world’s most valuable player, has netted as many as 26 goals in just 22 competitive matches.
What’s more impressive is Mbappe’s record for the entirety of the year. Indeed, in 2025, Mbappe has netted 56 goals for Real Madrid.
Mbappe’s tally of 56 goals for Real Madrid means he is just three goals away from matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of most goals scored for Los Blancos in a calendar year.
In 2013, the Portuguese international had scored 59 goals for Real Madrid. Mbappe, with 56, is closest any player has gotten.
What’s more impressive is that the Frenchman still has two games to equal or potentially beat the record held by his idol.

However, one of those two games include a Copa del Rey Round of 32 match against CF Talavera, a game in which Xabi Alonso is likely to rest his main players.
Mbappe is among the players poised to start on the bench. However, his participation cannot be ruled out completely given that he did play almost half of hour in last season’s Round of 32 tie in Copa del Rey.
Should Mbappe fail to feature or score against Talavera, he will have to give his all in the La Liga game vs Sevilla – which will be Real Madrid’s last one in 2025 – in order to match Ronaldo’s tally.
Indeed, the Frenchman would have to score a hat-trick to match Ronaldo’s record and four goals to beat the record held by the Portuguese sensation.
It is tough but not impossible, especially for a player like Mbappe, who has scored a hat-trick numerous times in his career while even scoring four goals in Real Madrid’s win over Olympiacos earlier this season.
