Real Madrid intend to refresh an ageing squad with bargain signings this summer, targeting returns for Nico Paz and Spain winger Victor Munoz. New manager Alvaro Arbeloa has already injected youth with Thiago Pitarch, Manuel Angel and Cesar Palacios.

According to Football Espana, Madrid are due to trigger a 29m buyback on Como playmaker Paz and plan to re-sign Munoz from Osasuna using a 28m clause. The report adds the pair could come back for a combined 17m.

Munoz has impressed for Osasuna under Alessio Lisci, making 31 appearances, scoring six and supplying five assists. He also struck on his Spain debut against Serbia last Friday.

Osasuna have already rejected a 25m offer from Sunderland for the speedy winger. Madrid have a buyback option for the first years of his deal.

Barcelona had been linked due to his La Masia past, but he looks likely to head back to the Bernabeu.

Elsewhere, a Stuttgart midfielder and Como defender Jacobo Ramon are seen as unlikely to return this summer, though the latter could yet do so depending on Madrid’s business. The plan is to keep monitoring their progress.
