Michael Olise remains one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe. The French national team player is repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid. At FC Bayern, however, the club is taking the rumors in stride.

Following the 1-2 friendly loss to SV Wehen Wiesbaden, sporting director Christoph Freund took a clear stance on the 24-year-old’s future—and left no doubt as to how club officials view the situation.

When asked about the ongoing speculation regarding a possible move to Real Madrid, Freund explained: “That’s not an issue for us at all. We’re looking forward to Michael returning from vacation. He’ll play an important role at FC Bayern this season—just as he did last year.”

With this statement, the sporting director underscores the record champion’s clear stance. Internally, Olise continues to be viewed as an absolutely key player for the upcoming season. As things stand, selling the attacking star is not up for discussion.

Real Backtracks on Olise

Recently, signs had been mounting anyway that a move to Madrid this summer was becoming increasingly unlikely. Several media outlets have consistently reported that Real has now shifted its focus to RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande and is said to have already made an initial multi-million offer.

FC Bayern is also apparently already working on a long-term future with Olise. According to various media reports, the Munich club wants to extend the Frenchman’s contract early and secure him permanently for the club.

Freund’s statements are therefore likely to further reassure Bayern fans. The sporting director made it unmistakably clear that Olise is to remain a key component of Vincent Kompany’s team—and that, from the record champion’s perspective, a move to Real Madrid is not even a consideration at this time.
