A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is expected to miss the next four weeks through injury.

The player in question? Dani Carvajal.

The name of right-back Carvajal has of course emerged as a prominent one in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 33-year-old has suffered a fresh setback on the fitness front.

After Carvajal was hooked prematurely en route to Real Madrid’s derby defeat at the hands of Atlético on Saturday, Los Blancos announced:

‘Following tests carried out today on Dani Carvajal by Real Madrid’s medical department, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.’

And as alluded to above, an insight into the predicted absence facing the experienced stopper has since been provided, too.

As per a report from Real Madrid insider Arancha Rodríguez, Carvajal is facing up to a four-week spell on the treatment table.
