It’s no secret that Real Madrid are interested in signing Michael Olise, although they have not made their move yet. Nevertheless, the feeling is that talks will be sought with Bayern Munich in the coming weeks, as the club eyes making a major statement of intent ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Olise is a player that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been keen to sign for some time. He’s ready to devote the €150m he referenced during his election campaign towards a deal, and with extras included, it’s been decided that €220m is what Los Blancos is prepared to pay if necessary.
However, this would not be enough for Bayern, who are determined to hang on to Olise. According to Roberto Gomez (via Marca), Real Madrid have been informed that they would need to match the world-record transfer fee in order to sign the France international.
“I don’t know if Real Madrid have already contacted Bayern, with the player or how they are doing it. I don’t know. And since I don’t know, I can’t say. The only thing I have said and I ratify here, that the player that Real Madrid wants is Olise and that Real Madrid knows that if they want Olise, he is going to cost €222m.”
Olise is clearly a sensational footballer, and ever since he made the move to Bayern Munich two years ago, he has gone to another level. He’s certainly one of the best forward players in the world, and he would be a fantastic addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad – although that does not means that he’s worth €222m.
He may well be worth that to Bayern, who are entitled to ask for as much as they want. However, it would be a big risk to splash out €222m on Olise, especially considering what that money could do for the other issues in the Real Madrid squad.
