La Liga giants Barcelona are on the verge of beating Inter Milan to the signature of Al-Hilal star Joao Cancelo.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, this defeat could end Inter’s pursuit of Denzel Dumfries’ replacement in January.
Despite being desperate to sign a new wingback amid the Dutchman’s absence, the Nerazzurri could end up empty-handed.
Indeed, the Italians have identified Joao Cancelo as an ideal market opportunity and were ready to bring him back to San Siro.
However, the 31-year-old is one step away from joining Barcelona.

Cancelo would have been a massive coup for Inter, yet the Portuguese ace has chosen to return to Camp Nou.
Therefore, last season’s Serie A runners-up have called off their pursuit of Dumfries’ heir.
Instead, they will rely on Matteo Darmian and Andy Diouf to fill the void.
Indeed, the former is close to returning from a long-term injury.
