Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the English club, and he needs to leave to play regularly. According to Defensa Central, the player would be open to joining Real Madrid on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Spanish outfit could be open to the move as well. They do not want to make any permanent moves right now, but signing the 20-year-old on loan would be an appealing option. It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid comes forward with an offer to get the deal done.

Mainoo is a tremendous talent with a bright future, and he has been labelled as a “special” player in the past. However, he is not a key player for Ruben Amorim, and leaving Manchester United could be ideal for him. Sitting on the bench at the Premier League club will not benefit him. He needs regular opportunities at this stage of his career to develop further and fulfil his potential.

It remains to be seen whether he can secure a move to Real Madrid in January. If he manages to play regularly during the second half of the season, it will improve his chances of making it to the World Cup with England as well.

Meanwhile, if he manages to impress with Real Madrid, they might decide to sign him permanently in future. It would be a huge opportunity for the young midfielder, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Real Madrid need more depth in the middle of the park, and the 20-year-old would be a handy option for them in the coming months.
